THE FEARLESS LOVER OF THE DARK

Tab has been part of Hide & Seek Paraquest for around 15 months, bringing curiosity, enthusiasm and absolutely no survival instincts when someone asks:

“Did you hear that?”

Her fascination with the paranormal began during childhood after experiencing things she couldn't explain.

As she grew older, that curiosity became a passion for researching the paranormal, investigating evidence and trying to understand what she had experienced.

She's still asking questions.

She's still looking for answers.

And she's still running towards the creepy noise.

THE CREEPIER, THE BETTER

Tab describes herself as a fearless lover of the dark, the forgotten and the unexplained.

She's particularly drawn to creepy locations — including:

Old cemeteries Churches Asylums Abandoned buildings Anywhere with a dark history

She's fascinated by what may linger after people leave and the strange experiences that can't easily be explained.

If something makes everyone else want to run away, Tab will probably be the first person heading towards it.

WHY SHE JOINED HSPQ

For Tab, the answer was pretty simple:

“Who better to explore dark, haunted locations with than a team who share the same fascination?!”

HSPQ gave her the opportunity to investigate alongside people who understand her fascination with the strange, the historic and the unexplained.

A CHILDHOOD FULL OF THE UNEXPLAINED

Tab isn't sure exactly when her first paranormal experience happened.

There have simply been too many.

From her childhood “imaginary friend” Sally, to disappearing during her parents' wedding and later being found outside the church playing with what she describes as ghost children, her experiences began early.

She also recalls experiences involving black orbs and shadow figures around her childhood home.

For Tab, there isn't really a clear beginning to the paranormal journey.

It has always been there.

GISBORNE COURTHOUSE

Tab's most memorable investigation happened at Gisborne Courthouse, just one week after her grandmother passed away.

During an Estes Method session, Tab received messages that felt deeply personal.

The messages included information that she says nobody within the investigation team could have known.

The team weren't even aware that her grandmother had passed away.

The experience had a profound effect on Tab.

It's something she says will stay with her for the rest of her life.

THE EXPERIENCE THAT CHANGED HER PERSPECTIVE

The Gisborne Courthouse Estes session also changed the way Tab thinks about paranormal communication.

The personal nature of what happened left her questioning how much we truly understand about communication beyond the physical world.

It didn't provide all the answers.

Instead, it created even more questions.

And for Tab, that's exactly what paranormal investigation is about.

NO FAVOURITE LOCATION

Tab doesn't have one specific favourite location.

Her criteria are much simpler:

Give her an eerie atmosphere and a dark history.

That's enough.

INTELLIGENT COMMUNICATION

The paranormal activity that interests Tab the most is intelligent activity and spirit communication.

She's fascinated by the possibility of interacting with something that appears capable of responding intelligently.

HER MUST-HAVE EQUIPMENT

Tab has several favourites:

Spirit boards. Dowsing rods. Spirit box. REM-POD.

Each offers a different way of exploring potential paranormal activity, and Tab enjoys having multiple methods available during an investigation.

THE MISSING EQUIPMENT

One of the strangest things Tab has experienced during an investigation was equipment going missing inside an empty room.

An empty room.

Missing equipment.

Not exactly ideal conditions for keeping track of your gear.

KEEPING A HEALTHY SCEPTICISM

Despite her love of the paranormal, Tab remains sceptical of most things she sees on the internet.

For her, experiencing something personally is very different from watching someone else's supposedly paranormal evidence online.

Questioning what you see is part of the investigation.

WHAT TAB BRINGS TO HSPQ

Tab brings:

Curiosity.

An open mind.

An unhealthy enthusiasm for creepy places.

And, according to Tab herself:

“No survival instincts when someone says ‘did you hear that?’”

She's willing to investigate almost anything and isn't afraid to get involved.

THE HSPQ FAMILY

Tab loves the people she's met, the places she's seen and the experiences she's shared through HSPQ.

Her favourite memories are the team's weekends away.

For her, it's not just about individual investigations.

It's about the friendships, experiences and stories created along the way.

WHAT HSPQ MEANS TO TAB

For Tab, being part of HSPQ means being able to share her passion for the paranormal with people who understand it.

It's about having a group of people who don't look at you strangely when you say you want to spend the night investigating an abandoned building.

Well... at least not too strangely.

HORROR & PARANORMAL

Tab's favourite horror films are, unsurprisingly, from The Conjuring Universe.

Her favourite paranormal television show is Supernatural.

If she could investigate anywhere in the world, she wouldn't limit herself to one location.

She'd go:

Anywhere with rich, haunting history.

LIZZIE BORDEN

At the moment, Tab is particularly fascinated by Lizzie Borden and the history surrounding her alleged haunting.

It's exactly the sort of combination of history, mystery and paranormal folklore that catches Tab's attention.

IF TAB COULD HAVE A PARANORMAL ABILITY

Her choice is simple:

Direct communication.

Being able to communicate directly with spirits would take her investigations to an entirely different level.

SOMETHING PEOPLE MAY NOT EXPECT

Here's the contradiction:

For someone who loves the paranormal and even collects dead things, Tab is actually:

Terrified of dead bodies.

Apparently there's a line somewhere.

WHY INVESTIGATE WITH HSPQ?

Tab's description of an HSPQ investigation probably says it all:

“Because who wouldn’t want to spend the night sitting in a dark room, talking to something… or nothing, with a bunch of people just as crazy as you are?”

According to Tab, you'll laugh.

You might get scared.

You'll probably hear some weird shit.

And at some point, you'll wonder:

“How the hell did I end up here?”

And that's exactly the fun of it.
