Paranormal Investigator — Hide & Seek Paraquest THE SCIENTIFIC INVESTIGATOR

Andrew Taylor has been part of Hide & Seek Paraquest for around two years, bringing a scientific mindset, curiosity and a willingness to experiment to the team.

His interest in the paranormal began through his wife, who introduced him to the world of paranormal investigation.

With a scientific background, Andrew approaches the paranormal with an open mind and a desire to understand what may happen after death.

WHY HE JOINED HSPQ

Andrew's curiosity about the afterlife was the driving force behind joining HSPQ.

Rather than simply accepting that paranormal experiences are real, he wants to investigate them, experiment with equipment and see what evidence can actually be produced.

For Andrew, the investigation is as much about understanding as it is about experiencing.

HIS FIRST PARANORMAL EXPERIENCE

Andrew's first memorable paranormal experience occurred at Mayday Hills.

During the investigation, he believed he saw a shadow figure.

Later, when reviewing photographs, he believed an image appeared to confirm what he had seen.

It was an experience that made him take a closer look at what might actually be happening during investigations.

DUNOLLY COURTHOUSE

One of Andrew's most memorable investigations was at Dunolly Courthouse.

During the investigation, equipment appeared to respond to commands.

For someone who approaches paranormal investigation from a scientific perspective, experiences like this provide an opportunity to test, repeat and question what is happening.

HIS INVESTIGATION STYLE

Andrew doesn't claim to have a particular sensitivity to spirits.

Instead, he relies heavily on equipment and experimentation.

He's interested in seeing whether equipment produces responses that can be observed, tested and potentially repeated.

That approach fits naturally with his scientific background.

THE STRANGEST EXPERIENCE

One of Andrew's strangest investigation experiences involved a spirit apparently calling someone a “prick.”

It's certainly not the kind of response you'd necessarily expect during a paranormal investigation.

But it's also a good reminder that if spirits are communicating, their personalities may not always be particularly polite.

WHEN EQUIPMENT RESPONDS

Andrew has experienced equipment apparently lighting up on command.

These are the moments that keep his curiosity alive.

At the same time, Andrew remains cautious about automatically accepting equipment responses as proof of paranormal activity.

For him, the important question isn't simply:

“Did the equipment go off?”

It's:

“Why did it go off?”

WAITING FOR THE UNEXPLAINABLE

Despite his experiences, Andrew is still waiting for that one event he genuinely cannot explain.

He's particularly sceptical of equipment that seems to activate constantly, such as the Dead Bell.

If something repeatedly produces responses without a clear connection to an investigation, Andrew believes it deserves closer examination rather than automatic acceptance.

WHAT ANDREW BRINGS TO HSPQ

Andrew brings friendliness, scientific curiosity and an open mind.

He also encourages other investigators to trust their own experiences while remembering that an experience doesn't automatically have one definitive explanation.

His willingness to experiment and question equipment makes him a valuable part of the investigative process.

THE HSPQ TEAM

For Andrew, being part of HSPQ means having the opportunity to investigate a variety of locations alongside people who are willing to keep an open mind.

Whether a location has spirits or not, he believes the investigation itself is worthwhile.

The goal is to explore, experiment and learn.

HORROR & PARANORMAL

Andrew doesn't have a particular favourite horror movie or paranormal television show.

His interests are more focused on the investigation itself than on paranormal entertainment.

HIS DREAM INVESTIGATION

Andrew's dream location to investigate is Port Arthur.

With its extensive history and tragic past, it would provide plenty of opportunity for historical research alongside paranormal investigation.

IF ANDREW COULD HAVE A PARANORMAL ABILITY

Andrew would choose the ability to:

See and feel spirits.

Being able to directly perceive something that currently requires equipment or interpretation would give him an entirely different perspective on paranormal investigation.

SOMETHING YOU MIGHT NOT EXPECT

One thing people may not immediately realise about Andrew is his scientific background.

That background plays a major role in how he approaches paranormal investigation — with curiosity, experimentation and a desire to understand rather than simply accept.

WHY HIDE & SEEK PARAQUEST?

For Andrew, HSPQ provides the opportunity to investigate different locations with equipment, an open mind and no need to push a particular agenda.

He believes paranormal investigation should be about seeing what happens, testing what can be tested and allowing the evidence to speak for itself.

Whether the result is paranormal activity or a perfectly logical explanation, the investigation has still achieved something.
