Amanda has been part of Hide & Seek Paraquest for around one year.

For Amanda, a connection with the paranormal has been part of her life for as long as she can remember. She describes herself as naturally sensitive to energy and the unseen world, with an intuitive approach to investigating locations and the people who visit them.

HOW IT ALL STARTED

Amanda's paranormal experiences began when she was very young.

Her first memorable experience happened at just two years old, when she encountered what appeared to be a black cat in spirit form.

Rather than putting her off the paranormal, experiences like this helped develop her lifelong fascination with what exists beyond what we can see.

WHY SHE JOINED HSPQ

Amanda joined HSPQ because she wanted to be part of a team.

She enjoys investigating locations with other people who share her interest in the paranormal and helping others discover what may be waiting within historic locations.

For Amanda, it's about being part of something bigger than investigating alone.

HER MOST MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE

One of Amanda's most memorable investigations involved asking a spirit to show itself.

The spirit appeared to respond by doing exactly that.

Amanda's favourite location to investigate is Gisborne Courthouse.

The combination of history, atmosphere and the possibility of paranormal activity makes it a location she particularly enjoys.

Another memorable investigation was at Dunolly Courthouse, which has also remained an important location for her.

WHAT AMANDA ENJOYS

Amanda is interested in all aspects of paranormal investigation.

She enjoys the combination of history, investigation, intuition and the possibility of communicating with something that may still remain connected to a location.

HER MUST-HAVE EQUIPMENT

Amanda's essential investigation equipment is:

Dowsing rods.

They form an important part of how she approaches communication during investigations.

WHAT'S STRANGE ABOUT THE PARANORMAL?

When asked about the strangest thing she's personally experienced, Amanda's answer is fitting:

“It's all strange and exciting.”

Amanda's favourite horror movie is Annabelle.

When it comes to paranormal movies and television, she chose Final Destination.

Her dream would be to investigate locations throughout America, with famous alleged hauntings such as the Lizzie Borden House and the Winchester Mystery House high on the list.

IF AMANDA COULD HAVE A PARANORMAL ABILITY

Amanda already considers herself to have a paranormal ability.

Her answer:

Mediumship.

Rather than wishing for something completely different, she would continue developing the ability she already believes she possesses.
